Car dealer gears up with £2m showroom

STAFF at a Northumberland car dealership have moved into a £2m showroom and are gearing up to drive sales forward in 2009.

Family-owned Vauxhall main dealer Davidsons of Morpeth is ready for business after relocating from Bridge End to new premises at Coopies Way, Morpeth, to provide a range of improved services and facilities for customers and staff.

The move follows an investment of £2m by the long-established business, which now offers bigger and better facilities.

Davidsons of Morpeth, which has 50 staff, was established by brothers Harry and Peter Davidson in 1990. The dealership is continuing to expand, despite the current financial climate.

Managing director Harry said the move marks the start of a new era for the business and the culmination of years of hard work and careful planning. “We are really pleased to finally be in our fantastic new premises and already feel at home here,” he said.

“The new premises are more state-of-the-art than our previous base and we are already receiving positive feedback from customers about the improved facilities.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the business develops throughout our next period of growth. We hope the move will benefit our many valued customers and help to attract new ones.”

The Davidsons’ team has more than doubled over the past 18 years and it is anticipated that the relocation will create further job opportunities.
