DFDS Seaways’ annual Charity Cruise has helped raise £3,690 for the Children North East charity.
On December 11 all customers travelling on the special charity mini cruise from Newcastle to Amsterdam were asked to donate either £25, £35 or £50 during the booking process rather than pay the usual fare for the mini cruise breaks.
Children North East is the region’s longest established children’s charity providing vital help, emotional and practical support to families with young children who are facing difficulties.
John Crummie, UK managing director of DFDS Seaways said: “Once again our Charity Cruises have proved hugely popular, and we are proud that so many customers have helped us raise such a significant amount for a truly worthwhile charity.
“We initially organised the Charity Cruises in 2006 to celebrate our 140th anniversary and they have proved so popular that we have continued them annually ever since.
“They really are an excellent way for people to give much needed donations to an excellent cause whilst enjoying a relaxing mini cruise break to Amsterdam.”
