Grainger sees pick up in housing demand
THE UK's biggest residential landlord Grainger says it has seen a "gentle pick up" in demand for buying homes, but says prices are under pressure from bargain hunters.
The Newcastle company said this morning (Tuesday) that it had seen an increase in the number of viewings for vacant properties during January, with those looking for a new home aiming to take advantage of interest rates falling rapidly.
The company's overall position on its pipeline of residential sales was a 7.8% fall from £63.9m at this time last year to £58.9m today.
Grainger said it would continue to pursue sales and try to cut overheads to protect its financial position.
