Oil and gas industry survey
A MAJOR study of Tees Valley oil and gas industry is under way to reveal the economic impact of its growing sub- sectors.
NOF Energy, the business development organisation of the oil, gas and energy industries, will conduct the research on behalf of Tees Valley Regeneration, which said it wanted to assess the strengths of the supply chain and gather the views of key businesses.
The survey will take the form of a series of face-to-face interviews with local businesses and an online questionnaire, which can be accessed through www.nofenergy.co.uk and www.teesvalleyregeneration.co.uk
Firms operating in the oil and gas sector can log on to register their views.
Tees Valley Regeneration said the project underpinned its role in promoting the area as a business destination and as a skills and expertise hub for inward investment opportunities.
Joanne Leng, director business development of NOF Energy, said: “This is a very important study for the Tees Valley as it will shine a light on the successful oil and gas supply chain businesses operating out of the area. The research will allow Tees Valley Regeneration to better evaluate the area’s impact on the industry and promote the very important role it has to play in supporting new developments in oil, gas and renewables.”
Neil Kenley, strategic investment and marketing director at Tees Valley Regeneration, added: “What we want to discover from this study is the strengths of the four growing sub-sectors - subsea technologies, offshore fabrication, design engineering and support services. We hope to analyse how Tees Valley compares to other oil and gas conurbations across Europe and the UK and what future developments could create new jobs and further investment.”
