University experts deliver to Malaysia

BUSINESS experts from the North East have exported their executive coaching tips at a seminar from the world's tallest twin towers.

Senior members of Newcastle Business School’s Executive management team at Northumbria University imparted their expertise to more than 100 senior executives at the cafe at the top of the 1,483ft Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

Professor Paul Croney, dean, and associate deans Jane Turner and Professor Sharon Mavin and Bob Woodward spoke on leadership development.

Jane said: “Authentic leadership development substantially underpins our ethos within the executive leadership development portfolio that I lead.

“This is a great opportunity to strengthen the Newcastle Business School brand and reinforce our position as a leading player among international business schools.”

The team also visited United Engineers Malaysia Berhad in Kuala Lumpur, delivering a workshop based around organisational values. UEM Group has more than 40 major operating companies worldwide.

During the visit the team was asked to offer a Professional Doctorate in Leadership and a Masters in Executive Leadership for the top tier of government-linked companies in Malaysia.

Professor Mavin said: "The workshop on organisational values was particularly interesting since the UEM workforce comprises Malaysian, Chinese and Indian nationals."
