Digital experts in line for new fashion portal
A LEADING e-commerce company has begun recruiting digital specialists on the back of a new online fashion portal.
Last month, nebusiness revealed that VisualSoft, which recently relocated to Portrack Lane, was planning a major new business launch.
Director Dean Benson confirmed: “It’s a high profile e-commerce fashion project. We are already seen as fashion experts in e-commerce with 40 clients in fashion marketing.”
Although the firm is keeping tight lipped about the project, which is gearing up for launch later this year, it is believed to be backed by several tens of thousands of pounds of investment from private financiers.
“We had no problem raising the money,” said Mr Benson.
He said he was looking to recruit 15 full time staff including programmers, web development professionals, search engine optimisation and pay per click experts, as well as sales executives.
He expected to find most of them on his doorstep.
“There’s no shadow of doubt that the skills base is definitely in the North-east,” said Mr Benson.
“People are within 20 miles of where we are.”
He said the firm’s recent relocation from Preston Farm to Portrack Lane helped in attracting quality recruits from the Tees Valley and Sunderland.
“Portrack Lane is very well placed,” he said.
