VENTURES in the North East are being offered the chance to find out how they can benefit from a joint initiative by HSBC and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to help UK exporters of all sizes capitalise on opportunities.
The joint move is aimed at providing training events and additional trade assistance for businesses looking to enhance their ability to increase their export business.
A series of international trade workshops across the UK have been developed by HSBC and UKTI to demystify the process of doing business internationally and advise on the requirements and paperwork needed.
The North East workshop is on Friday, April 3, at HSBC, Kingsway, Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, 8.30am until noon. The event is free but the number of places is limited.
The first phase of this initiative is a series of breakfast workshops throughout England. The workshops are aimed at SMEs preparing to trade overseas or already doing so.
These interactive events, presented by experienced UKTI Trade advisers and HSBC specialists, will provide advice on opportunities and challenges in exporting, and help companies understand how to prepare their international strategy and avoid common pitfalls.
The events will cover:
The process of trading internationally;
How to enter the market of your choice effectively;
Understanding the risks in trading overseas and how to mitigate them;
How to finance international growth;
Managing currency risks.
Businesses interested in attending the international trade workshops should send an email to: pcm.enquiries@hsbc.com.
