He said the company was keen to make inroads in the North East because of the region’s reputation for solid customer service and its growing number of women entrepreneurs.
“The North East is one of our target markets,” Mr Riordan said. “There is a strong base of female entrepreneurs, and the nature of our business is business ownership. Typically, we see 80% of those who succeed are women. We are targeting an area with a strong base of female entrepreneurs – there has been a 17% increase in the North East of female-driven start-ups. The North East is a natural territory for us.”
The Federation of Small Businesses said it was pleased the firm would encourage workers to use Business Link “to ensure that all these new businesses grow from strength to strength”.
