Park and Slide fits in nicely for old friends

TWO senior North East entrepreneurs are starting out in business again with an invention which makes it easier to get two big cars in a small garage.
Ken Riley and David Carr set up their Park and Slide business in Blaydon, Gateshead, after Mr Riley had a flash of inspiration when figuring out how to keep his two cars safe while he and his wife went on holiday.
Although the cars could fit inside his garage at home, the entrance was not big enough to allow the second car to get in without damage.
Apart from being worried that the car may be stolen if it was parked outside for two weeks, Mr Riley, who recently retired as managing director of surfacing company Tarmac North East, was also aware that he would have to pay hefty insurance premiums over the period.
So he came up with the ingenious idea of making a large slide that allowed the first car to be pushed against the garage wall, providing plenty of space for the second vehicle to drive in.
