Renewables firm looks for expansion
A NEW renewable energy company headed by two Teesside bosses has announced ambitious plans for expansion.
Access Renewables, based near Bishop Auckland, said it planned to bring around ten jobs to the area in the next 12 to 18 months to cope with rising demand for its renewable energy products and services, including solar panels and wind turbines.
The jobs are expected to be within the specialist installation teams.
The company, which was launched earlier this year by Karen Jones and Sean Collier who were previously employed by AAG Swepco on Teesside, said that it had secured a number of contracts and distributorship agreements.
Growth funds were provided by North East England Investment Centre.
Managing director Karen Jones said: “The North-east is an ideal location to start and grow a business due to its excellent support facilities, and even more so that it’s regarded as the worldwide expertise centre for renewable energy technologies.”
Despite the economic conditions, she said the time was right to create a new company committed to reducing carbon emissions to clients who are keen to embrace innovative technologies, while securing a reliable and green source of energy.
“We are looking forward to expanding our business using the excellent resources available in the North-east,” said Ms Jones.
