Weathering recession and moving forward positively

HOW businesses can weather the recession and move forwards after dealing with issues such as redundancy will be at the heart of a major conference being staged next month.

The Revitalising, Restructuring & Reskilling Your Organisation event will bring together some of the North East’s top executives, business advisers and lawyers to address the thorny subject of dealing with change.

It will include sessions on the practical details of restructuring, how to re-motivate staff when a business has been affected by redundancies and how to move forwards.

The event, sponsored by Newcastle College, has been organised by nebusiness and Newcastle-based business advisers Weightman Associates.

Company founder Tony Weightman said: “We wanted to help local organisations make clearer decisions about the effects of redundancy and the fall-out of the restructure of the organisation by getting them access to the best advice available.

“We want to help companies restructure in a way that works for the future, that ensures they keep their most talented and if they have to lose staff, to look at ways of doing this in the best way for the staff and for the company.”
