Things looking up at Lookers

A NEW management team at a Middlesbrough car retailer has made an instant impact, after early 2009 customer satisfaction figures were published.

Lookers Volkswagen appointed new brand, sales and business centre managers in December at the Newport Road site.

In a successful start to the year, the showroom received praise for its improved customer service, which was monitored through mystery shopper reports and customer satisfaction surveys.

New brand manager Simon Horabin, who relocated from Preston to Thirsk to take over at the helm, said: “I’m delighted with the customer satisfaction figures as my main focus from the start was to deliver exceptional customer service.

“The team at Middlesbrough is now of a very high standard and we hope this is will be continued to be reflected in the customer satisfaction figures throughout 2009 and beyond.”

With more than 23 years’ experience in the industry, Simon praised sales manager Alan Lea and business centre manager Elaine McPhail for some of the major improvements.

The trio has more than 60 years’ experience in the automotive industry.

“This retailer has enormous potential and I’m pleased the initial hard work has paid off,” Simon added.

“I’ve relocated my family from Preston to the area because I’m committed to leading the staff at all three of Lookers’ Volkswagen retailers in the North-east.”
