Journalist consults a new career

Andrew Glover

A FORMER journalist and broadcaster who made his name in a career spanning more than 25 years at the BBC, Border Television and Trinity Mirror, has set up his own consultancy firm.

Through his new business, Lush Places Media, Andrew Glover will use his in-depth knowledge of the media industry to offer broadcast masterclasses, crisis management, media, camera and editing training and corporate communications services.

Meanwhile, the business, which is based in Hamsterley, near Bishop Auckland in County Durham, will run media-based education programmes in schools, colleges and universities.

Mr Glover also specialises in Soundslides, which combine sound bites with digital images to produce short stories for websites.

Clients include Durham County Council and other local authorities along with companies in the leisure industry and schools.

Mr Glover said: “I’ve worked in the media business for over 25 years. I know it inside out and now it’s time to use that experience to provide help, support and advice to others.

“The future is most definitely digital. Many organisations and individuals know that, but getting it right is another matter. A well thought-out multimedia strategy, professionally delivered on all platforms could make all the difference. Sometimes it’s easy to end up paying over the odds because the whole subject is alien to you, but Lush Places Media will provide value for money delivered by an experienced team.”
