Benefits of helping give business united voice

A MAJOR campaign is launched today to highlight to companies the economic benefits of belonging to the region’s leading business organisation.
Firms in the North East are being urged to join the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) and its 4,000 business members to form a collective voice for business.
NECC chief executive James Ramsbotham urged businesses to consider being part of a wider community for commerce in the region.
He unveiled NECC’s latest campaign, "the benefits of belonging" at the organisation’s annual general meeting.
NECC’s newly elected president Martyn Pellew said: "Record numbers of businesses are turning to NECC at this time because they recognise the benefits of belonging to a body that can do so much for them on so many levels.
"The great strength of NECC lies in the fantastic businesses throughout the region which commit to it."
Immediate past president Richard Bottomley said: "NECC is a very important tool to ensure that the views of businesses in the region are heard, by lobbying government over issues which affect us, from transport to protecting manufacturing jobs."
The Benefits of Belonging campaign seeks to highlight the value to businesses of joining the present 4,000 members of NECC that employ 380,000 of the North East’s workforce.
The campaign also highlights free advantages for members, which include access to free legal advice, market research and networking events. More details can be found at www.necc.co.uk/belong
