Modest Mullin planning more books
SUNDERLAND MP and successful novelist Chris Mullin is today signing copies of his published diaries in Newcastle.
The former minister will be at the Literary and Philosophical Society on Westgate Road from 1.45pm talking about his book A View From The Foothills in which he reveals the day-to-day life of a minister at the lower end of Government life.
Mr Mullin said he had at least two more books he intended to write, based on his time as MP before the 1997 General Election and his time as an MP under Gordon Brown’s leadership. He also revealed he is considering a follow-up to his hugely successful first novel A Very British Coup.
The long-standing MP insists his reason for stepping down is not connected to Mr Brown’s sometimes unpopular leadership.
