Stylish newjobs in store
MORE than 30 jobs will be created with the opening of two new fashion chain stores in Middlesbrough.
Affordable designer wear store Bank, which owns 58 outlets across the UK, will create 13 full and part time jobs with the opening of a new branch at The Mall.
Meanwhile, value retailer Peacocks’ new store on the Cleveland Retail Park, which opens on Thursday, brings 19 new jobs to the town.
Store manager Jayne Marron said more than 30 new clothing lines would be landing in the store each week.
Although the retail sector has had a tough time during the recession, the tills have been ringing recently. Like-for-like sales in July were up 1.8% on the same month in 2008.
Middlesbrough, along with Hartlepool and Darlington, is among those towns set to benefit from Government grants of £52,632 each to breathe fresh life into town centres.
