Executives enjoy Alternative Business Awards
EXECUTIVES from the North East let their hair down and took to the stage at the Alternative Business Awards.
They were given a series of tongue in cheek awards and demonstrated their musical talents in the Opportunity Knackered Talent Show.
And the event at The Journal Tyne Theatre raised £17,000 for the Percy Hedley Foundation charity from sponsors and participants eager to join in the fun and support a good cause.
Fundraising director Des Bustard said: “This was another great night for the business community and for Percy Hedley Foundation. We had a brilliant evening of entertainment and raised an amazing £17,000 toward our appeal to build a new hydrotherapy centre which will bring invaluable benefits to disabled children and adults in the region.”
The evening was hosted by newsreader Kathy Secker with cabaret from comic Brendan Healy and music from house band 55 Degrees.
Award sponsors included ncjMedia, Ark Associates, Bradley O’Mahoney, Eversheds, Ward Hadaway, Gateshead Newcastle Arts Forum, NRG, NECC, bdaily, Gentoo, NGI, Gateshead College, Ryder Architecture and Northumbrian Water.
