Awards are a fantastic platform

BUSINESS Link is urging the region’s companies to showcase their achievements at the nebusiness awards 2009, as they pledge their support as associate sponsors of the event for the third year running.
Organised by the Evening Gazette and The Journal, the awards aim to identify and celebrate business excellence, innovation and success and encourage good practice among North-east firms.
The awards cover a wide range of categories to show how North-east firms are achieving success across all areas - from manufacturing to creative and service to small business.
Organisations large and small are being encouraged to get involved in the event, which highlights the strength and diversity of enterprise in the North-east.
Successful entrants can benefit from being held up as leaders in their particular field which other businesses can learn from and be inspired by. The awards also offer a number of other opportunities such as the chance to promote your business and communicate achievements to customers and stakeholders as well as boosting morale among a company’s employees, by reminding them of the positive contribution they have made to the success of the business.
The nebusiness awards have grown year on year in terms of the volume and quality of entrants and the 2009 event should be no exception.
This is a fantastic platform to celebrate the region’s talent and it’s more important than ever before for North-east companies to get involved and share their inspiring stories of success.
The business community here has the ability to emerge from the challenges of the economic downturn as a genuine international force.
It is important to shout about our outstanding successes and show the rest of the UK that the North-east really means business.
Business Link is fully committed to transforming the region’s economy and to helping businesses to thrive, develop and grow by providing free, independent information and advice to new and established businesses as well those who want to start a new venture.

Alastair MacColl, chief executive of Business & Enterprise North East, the organisation that runs the Business Link service in the region, said: “The nebusiness awards provide a fantastic platform to show that the region’s business community is thriving and set to emerge strong from the current economic downturn. There is a wealth of talent here that we should all be proud of and there are many examples of businesses that are embracing innovation to improve their bottom-line or to get new enterprise off the ground, despite the challenges we’ve faced in the past year.
“I would like to urge as many companies as possible to get involved in this fantastic event to showcase the strength and diversity of talent that exists in the region and to celebrate their outstanding successes.”
