SOME of the country's top fund managers are coming to the region later this week to meet some of the North East's major companies with opportunities for investment on the agenda.
The 16th annual Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking conference is being held at the firm’s Newcastle offices on Thursday. Flying into the region for the event are around 30 of the UK’s leading fund mangers.
Also there will be representatives from some of the region’s leading companies including stock market-listed businesses Greggs, Newcastle car dealer Vertu Motors and Durham energy support services company Hargreaves.
The fund managers will also be touring some of the region’s leading companies including Newton Aycliffe-based Mears, a social housing repair and maintenance company and Newcastle-based environmental services company Eaga.
A spokesman for Brewin Dolphin said: “This is a very prestigious event for the Brewin Dolphin Investment Banking team This allows our invited businesses to maintain their on-going dialogue with some of the City’s leading figures.
“It’s also an excellent opportunity to promote the North East. We are acting like a dating agency as it gives local companies an opportunity to gauge the appetite of the City for investing in them.”
