What will help digital firms to succeed?
AS One North East launches its plan to transform the region’s digital sector, we asked two digital businesses about what steps they would like to see from the regional development agency.
Neil Robbins, managing director Newcastle-based digital marketing firm Silverbean, said a major issue which needed to be tackled was the lack of information available for non-digital companies about the benefits of trading online.
He said: "The information available to people is limited. I would like to see how they will go about educating business owners to do more trade online. In terms of support for digital agencies like us, educating companies about how to buy digital services to ensure that they don’t have issues with miss-selling is also important."
Steve Grainger, who runs Tyneside- based digital agency Enigma Interactive, said: "We’ve got very good technology and creative businesses in the region and we have good, talented people here. The public sector should help those organisations achieve their aims by putting in place things that will make routes to market easier."
