Estate agent BHP opens new branch in city

GROWING confidence in the housing market has prompted a North East estate agency to open a new branch in Durham.

BHP Home has so many properties on its books and a growing number of interested buyers, landlords and tenants that it has opened a sales and lettings office on Claypath. Alison Sykes, sales director of BHP Home, explained: “We have been servicing Durham from our North Shields branch for some time but we feel this is the right time to bring our expertise into the city. We’ve had these premises for a while and the fact that we’re opening now is a sign of our belief that the market has turned a corner.

“We feel very positive and enthusiastic about the property market in Durham, where prices have held up much better than other parts of the country but where there are still good deals to be had.”
