Flexibility key to North East Chamber's award win

FLEXIBLE working practices have helped the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) raise staff retention rates from 76% last year to 90% this year, as well as winning it a prestigious award.
NECC has been made Best Employer of between 51 and 250 Staff at the North East Equality Awards in recognition of its efforts to adapt to the working needs of its staff.
NECC is a business membership organisation with more than 4,000 members, employing around a third of the North East workforce.
The award follows NECC’s success last year in winning the Innovative Working Practices Award, both of which are evidence of the emphasis the company puts on supporting its staff.
The judges were impressed by the company’s comprehensive approach to changes in work practices that showed sensitivity to the needs of employees while not compromising NECC’s quality of service.
