It’s a Rok solid year for construction firm

BUILDING firm Rok, which has a base in Middlesbrough, today said forecast full-year results were in line with its expectations.

In its interim management statement the company said 2009 had “been a year of continued progress and transition”.

In line with its strategy, it said it had adjusted its business mix in favour of “higher margin, lower risk” planned and response maintenance projects and new build social housing.

Rok has secured new framework agreements this year having won 48 new appointments totaling more than £700m.

Rok’s forward order book now stands at £2.1bn, level with the previous year with secured and visible revenues for 2010 are now at 80% of its forecast revenues.

Recent contract wins include the appointment by Liverpool Victoria (LV>) to handle its domestic insurance repairs on a three year framework contract.

It has also secured long-term contracts with St Albans City and District Council, North Wales Housing Association, Home Group and Bromsgrove District Housing Trust which will benefit revenues in 2010.
