Trade support increases

SUPPORT for international traders is set to soar in the region as a long-standing networking club relaunches this month.

The North East International Networking Club, which is organised by the region’s International Trade Office, is now welcoming all customers who have previously been involved with, or are currently participating in, one of the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) support programmes.

The change aims to increase the depth of knowledge within the club, enabling both new and experienced exporters to develop international trade activities.

Through informal meetings, the North East International Networking Club creates the opportunity to network, share information, mentor and learn from experts.

The next event will be the Christmas meeting to be held at The Stadium of Light, Sunderland on Thursday, December 10.

Roy Stanley, chairman of The Tanfield Group and Chris Woerts, international business development director, Sunderland Association Football Club, are keynote speakers at this event and will talk about their own experiences in international trade.

Simon Crosby, UK Trade & Investment’s lead international trade adviser, said: "The International Networking Club offers those involved in international trade a chance to come together to talk about and share their experiences.

"The Christmas event is also a celebration of what the club and its members have achieved. And of course UKTI will be on hand to talk about the wide range of support available."
