Charities share Lotto rises
NATIONAL Lottery operator Camelot raised £757.2m for good causes in the first half of its year after seeing a 2.7% hike in ticket sales.
The group has reported sales of £2.63 bn across all National Lottery games in the six months to September 26, up £68.9m on a year earlier.
This helped boost Camelot’s fundraising by £68m in the half year – taking the total so far to more than £23m.
Non-draw based games – such as scratchcards and interactive Instant Win games – saw the biggest rise in popularity, with sales up 10% at £641.6m.
