MORE than 250 people have registered to attend a major business conference in the region.
Some of the top private companies in the North East have joined forces to run the Business Toolkit event at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead on Thursday.
The free event will feature speakers offering priceless advice on a range of topics from how to get bank funding to the latest employment law advice.
Darren Richardson, director of Newcastle-based PR and marketing agency Gardiner Richardson, will be running a session on branding.
He said: "This event offers private sector organisations a great opportunity to share their expertise and experience with North East businesses.
"Brand is a powerful asset for businesses and can determine whether you are the first or the third choice for a customer. As competition intensifies, a strong brand is invaluable and can be an incredibly strong tool for a business especially during turbulent times.
"At the Business Toolkit event I will be explaining how branding goes way beyond a company logo or leaflet and how it encapsulates the core values."
Joanna Gibson, marketing manager at Stockton-based Jacksons law firm, will also be attending.
She said: "An event that comprises some of the North East’s most high-profile organisations means that delegates will benefit from hearing from such a diverse group of people who will have a real effect on the success of their businesses."
The event, which is supported by The Journal, starts at noon and is free provided you register in advance. Otherwise, you can pay £10 on the day.
