AN event designed to offer practical advice to North East businesses looking to break into export markets was yesterday hosted by one of the North East’s most pivotal business figures.
Yesterday saw Dr Herbert Loebl open the first Building for Export Success at the Newcastle University Business School which included a series of workshops led by experts and high profile executives.
Dr Loebl is the son of a Jewish manufacturer who fled Nazi Germany for the North East before launching a group of companies and helping to set up more than 200 firms .
He said: "I am pleased that so many key people turned up to the workshop. We are now seeking feedback to help us hold an even better event next time round. I believe Newcastle University Business School will be a key player in building up the region’s expertise in exporting."
