Darryl banks on a stylish return

A FORMER City banker has turned his back on high finance to focus on bringing high fashion to his North East home city.
Newcastle-born Darryl Davison spent four years as a banker with HSBC in Canary Wharf, before picking up the fashion bug and will next week open menswear boutique Trickle on Newcastle’s Grey Street.
He wanted to bring the work of designers including Alexander McQueen, Ksubi and Henrik Vibscov to Tyneside as he felt the North East missed out on some of the cutting edge styles he found in stores in Soho and trendy Shoreditch.
He said: "I grew up waiting for true style to reach the North East and it took being surrounded by such great menswear stores in London to inspire me to do something about it.
"There’s no reason why northerners should miss out on the excitement of the menswear fashion scene and I’m confident Trickle will bring something fresh to the city.
"It’s a place to shop without feeling pressured and I’m determined to introduce a wide range of designers and price points to the store so it really is open to everyone not just the fashion snobs. I had a great experience in London but its great to be back in the North East and bringing a little bit of the capital back up with me."
