AN award-winning pub restaurant in Northumberland has another feather in its cap.
Chef Rhian Cradock and his wife Helen Greer are toasting success as their renowned Feathers Inn in Hedley on the Hill near Stocksfield has been shorlisted for the title of best pub in in the Northern Hospitality Awards.
The couple’s gourmet creations from locally sourced ingredients have already won them the title of Northumbria Dining Pub of the Year from the Good Pub Guide three years’ running, Yorkshire and North East Pub of the Year, and Local Food Hero for the North East.
The country hostelry has also been included in the illustrious Good Food Guide and Michelin Guide and were named Sunday Sun pub of the year in 2008.
A record number of chefs, restaurants, bars and hotels from across the North West, Yorkshire and the North East entered this year’s awards.
Thom Hetherington, managing director of Moorfield Media, organisers of the awards, said: “The calibre of entries this year has been exceptionally high, with a number of Michelin-starred establishments taking part, which is great to see.
“Our judges had an incredibly tough time whittling down the entries as so many were hugely impressive. They have now made their decisions though and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the entrants for taking part and wish all the finalists the very best of luck for the big night.”
The winners will be announced in Manchester on April 12.
