UKSE is a Tall Ships Races bronze sponsor
AN organisation that is helping regenerate the North-east has pledged its support for the Tall Ships Races - Hartlepool 2010.
UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE), the regeneration arm of Corus, has signed up as a bronze sponsor of England’s biggest free event this year.
UKSE assists areas affected by changes in the steel industry by providing loan and equity funding to growing businesses as well as offering high quality office and workshop accommodation at a number of key locations.
Regional manager Simon Hamilton said: “We see this as a high profile event that will allow a great town to show itself off to a wider audience and demonstrate all that it has to offer.”
UKSE owns and runs The Innovation Centre on the town’s Queen’s Meadow Business Park.
The centre is about to be expanded, with just under 20,000 sq ft of office space being built on an adjacent site.
This is on course to open in early summer 2011.
Mr Hamilton added: “We hope to use the Tall Ships Races in Hartlepool as an opportunity to introduce our expanded centre to people from outside the town in the hope that new businesses can be attracted.”
Hartlepool Mayor Stuart Drummond said: “The council has worked closely with UKSE over many years and I am delighted that this very positive relationship is continuing with their sponsorship of the Tall Ships Races.
