TTE secure sponsorship for three apprentices

Apprentices Daniel Watson, James Gadd, Richard Broome and Graham Plant of TTE

THE TTE Technical Training Group has secured industry sponsorship for a group of three apprentices with support from the £2m Tees Valley Apprenticeship Fund.

The Seal Sands-based operation has five trainees through the Oil and Gas Academy, OPITO. The funding offered by the TVAP has enabled the BP Central Area Transmission System to expand their team of apprentices.

Mechanical apprentice James Gadd, 18, from Redcar and electrical apprentices Daniel Watson, 17, from Nunthorpe and Richard Broome, 19, from Redcar will gain on the job experience to help them achieve their apprenticeship framework and industry-respected qualifications.

BP CATS’ North-east operation is the terminal which processes gas delivered via a 223-mile 36in pipeline from the central North Sea. It delivers up to 12% of the UK’s gas demand during peak periods.

Part of the Tees Valley Industrial Programme, the TVAP fund is designed to provide essential support for local apprentices that have been made redundant or are at risk of redundancy from existing host companies and unable to complete their training.
