A TRAINING company has landed two major contracts with the National Grid to provide specialist services over the next few years
Jarrow-based Expedient Training Services Ltd (ETSL) will provide training in gas distribution and gas authorisation to the national business.
ETSL managing director Malcolm Atkinson, who formed the company in 2003, said: “The framework contract award by National Grid comes on top of what has been a very successful year for Expedient.
“The frameworks were won against stiff competition from incumbent national training providers.” The firm specialises in training in construction, utilities, plant operations, health and safety and confined spaces.
Atkinson added: “It will give us the opportunity to expand the business in terms of new jobs and improved premises and this success builds upon our existing work for other blue-chip clients including Balfour Beatty, Siemens, A&P Tyne and many local authorities.
From our training centre in South Tyneside we have built up a client database of over 1,700 companies, becoming their provider of choice, offering training from our portfolio of over 120 different courses.”
