TTE Technical Training Group retain safety award

THE TTE Technical Training Group has retained the British Safety Council’s Five Star Health and Safety award for the second successive time.

TTE, which has a mix of local learners and technicians from national and international employers into its training centres, has maintained its Five Star status.

The organisation also bettered its 92.6% rating from 2008 with a score of 94.9%.

Following an extensive external health & safety management systems audit, TTE demonstrated its commitment to delivering technical training in a safe, but realistic environment.

The audit enables the organisation to continue to be benchmarked against the best global employers in the engineering, oil and gas, manufacturing and process sectors.

The British Safety Council, one of the world’s leading occupational health, safety and environmental organisations, reports in the executive summary of the audit that to achieve the standard, TTE met a series of rigorous health and safety indicators in areas including safety organisation, workplace implementation management, measurement and fire control systems.

Steve Grant, managing director of TTE, said: “We are very proud to achieve the five star rating for the second time, which validates the proactive and effective health and safety culture we have established across our training centres with our staff and learners.

“It is important that all our training activities meet the same exceptionally high levels of safety demanded by the by global industrial sectors in which we work every day.

“This will ensure that those attending both short and longer-term programmes at TTE can not only transfer their new found technical skills and competencies directly into the workplace but also do so without comprising the safety of themselves or those they work with.

“This vital audit is not only a testament to the hard work of our dedicated team of industry experienced technical trainers and staff, but also the focus on health and safety driven by our board of industry professionals and the work of Ian Ward, TTE’s Group Health and Safety Advisor, who has meticulously created a safety management framework to protect everyone who works at TTE or visits our training centres.”
