Durham businesswoman's banking on her success

Jackie Wade, the managing director of Durham-based Winning Sales

A BUSINESS consultant has launched her first book which she was commissioned to write after a publisher discovered her on Twitter.

Jackie Wade, the managing director of Durham-based Winning Sales, was signed up by Shrewsbury-based BrightWord to write Successful Selling for Small Business – What It Takes and How To Do It.

Wade said: “The publisher tweeted that it was looking to commission an expert to write a book to help businesses improve their sales. I started to get mentions left, right and centre and decided to get in touch with them directly. Following six months of work, the book is finally available.

“I’m really excited about the book. It’s something that had been on my to-do list for years, but I’d just never had the time to complete it.

“It can be daunting when setting up or running a business and I hope the publication will provide practical advice to help those at all levels of their business journey. The whole thing has been a fabulous experience.”

The book is part of a series of guides aimed at small businesses and start-ups which aims to inspire readers to sell and gives them advice on how to do it more effectively.

Wade has more than 25 years of management experience in sales and marketing across Europe, the Far East and North and South America. She founded her business consultancy Winning Sales in 2004.

She has just won clients in Ireland and the US and is keen to win more overseas contracts using the book to sell her skills.

Wade added: “I enjoyed writing the book so much that when I finished, I already had further titles in mind.

“My previous experience with both national and international businesses in a range of industries has allowed me to develop a range of techniques I have drawn on throughout the book.

“The launch together with our new international opportunities, makes for a very exciting time at Winning Sales and I’m looking forward to what the future may hold.”
