Ward Hadaway trainees scoop awards

LAW firm Ward Hadaway is celebrating a hat-trick of industry award wins by its talented young trainee lawyers.

Second year trainee solicitors Elizabeth Goring and Joseph Kelley triumphed in two categories in the Newcastle Law Society Legal Awards for 2011, while first year trainee solicitor Stephanie Rodgers has won an award for achieving the highest marks on her Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Elizabeth won the Newcastle Prize for the trainee solicitor with the highest marks on a Legal Practice Course in the region who goes on to obtain a training contract at a firm within the Newcastle Law Society area.

The former Tynemouth King’s School student is in the second year of her two-year training contract at Ward Hadaway and is currently working in the firm’s Employment team. Joseph Kelley won the University of Northumbria LLB Hons Solicitors Exempting Degree Prize 2011 for the student with the highest marks on the LLB Hons course at Northumbria University who goes on to obtain a training contract at a firm within the Newcastle Law Society area.

Joseph is in the second year of his two-year training contract and is currently working in Ward Hadaway’s Company and Commercial team.

It is the second year in a row that trainee solicitors from Ward Hadaway have won both prizes at the Newcastle Law Society Awards.

Stephanie Rodgers won the DLA Award for the student who obtains the highest combined mark in the Business and Commercial Law parts of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at The College of Law in York. The former Newcastle Central High School GDST student scored 84% in the Business Law exam and 89% in the Commercial Law exam at the College.

Stephanie is in the first year of her training contract at Ward Hadaway and is currently working as a member of the firm’s healthcare team.
