
A TEESSIDE company has bucked the recession trend and recorded a year of growth.
StS Resources and Technology, based on Riverside Park, Middlesbrough, have had a successful 2011 which have seen employment levels at the company increase by more than 150% during the year.
The company, which supplies services, expertise and manpower to the oil, gas and energy market, was awarded the ISO 9001-2008 in Quality Management Systems certificate in November after months of hard work. This capped off an already successful year for the company as employment levels rose from 50 to more than 200.
StS recruit locally and have been inundated with applications for work following the closure of many other businesses.
Paul Hancock, managing director for StS Resources and Technology said; “It has been a really rewarding year. The investment that we have made in gaining the QMS certification has laid some solid foundations to allow the business to grow. This year has been good but we are planning on next being even better.”
The ISO QMS certificate was achieved with assistance from Middlesbrough Council.
