WEDDED bliss is only a click away thanks to a new online gift service just launched on Teesside.
Holiday company Dawson and Sanderson has set up a new service called www.giftmyhoneymoon.co.uk designed to help couples with the cost of their wedding and honeymoon.
More brides and grooms-to-be live together before tying the knot, says the North-east based travel agent, meaning traditional wedding gifts like toasters, and towels are on the decline.
The website works as a savings fund which also enables family and friends to contribute towards a couple’s honeymoon or wedding abroad as a gift.
Each couple has their own personalised page - which can be shared with social networking sites - where they can upload photographs and messages.
They can track their growing pot of money and when they are ready, use the company’s advisers to help book their dream destination.
Tracey Payne and Adrian Craig, from Stockton, were the first to open an account.
They’ve set a date for a June wedding and are planning a honeymoon in Cyprus.
“As we live together we don’t need much for the house,” said Tracey.
Chris Pattison, managing director of Dawson and Sanderson, said: “It seems reasonable to ask for a little help to meet the costs, instead of receiving items they don’t really need.”
Dawson and Sanderson has 22 branches across the North east employing 300 staff.
