METROCENTRE manager Tim Lamb has died.

He suffered a heart attack while playing football on Tuesday evening.

Mr Lamb was formerly the general manager of Eldon Square shopping centre in Newcastle before moving to the Gateshead mall.

A Capital Shopping Centres Group spokeswoman said: ``We are deeply saddened to have to announce that Tim Lamb, general manager at Metrocentre, died suddenly yesterday evening of a heart attack whilst playing football.

"Tim was well-loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he will be sorely missed."
