A HAIR extensions company has gone to great lengths to supply luscious locks to some of the country’s best-known TV celebrities.
Stockton-based Additional Lengths, which manufactures and supplies hair extensions and associated accessories throughout the UK, has recently finished working with ITV’s Dancing on Ice hairdresser Paul Haskell.
He first discovered the Teesside business when he was trawling the internet for high-quality human hair extensions to supply to the stars. He contacted company founder, Victoria Lynch, in time for this year’s show.
She said: “He came to us and was interested in our products because they are our own brand and we could supply them to the show at a manufacturing cost. Everything they used during the show was the Additional Lengths brand. Paul also works for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing so hopefully he will come back and use us next year.”
The business has also expanded into Yorkshire with the opening of its second retail store. It recently launched a store in Leeds city centre after a period of growth thanks to its increased profile following the prime-time reality programme.
The new store and salon, which has been completely refurbished, successfully launched on March 31 with hundreds of customers visiting. In addition to hair extensions the salon will offer Botox, fillers and liquid facelifts.
To cope with demand the workforce has been increased to 12 members of staff to work in both stores and to handle online orders, which they are receiving from around the world.
“We are delighted to launch our second store and expand into Yorkshire,” added Lynch. “The Leeds store is in the heart of the city and benefits from a lot of foot-traffic of style conscious people so we are excited to launch in such a vibrant area.
“We have also received increasing industry credibility thanks to working with leading hair stylists and celebrities who wear our products.”
