MORE than 600 firms will be seeking advice on sales, law, apprenticeships, international trade and much more at two business support events to be held in Newcastle and Teesside.

The free events, organised by Business and Enterprise Group, will take place on September 25 at the Gosforth Park Hotel, Newcastle, and Wynyard Rooms, Billingham, on October 16.

They will give firms ideas on how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their businesses, make useful connections and consult with a range of expert advisers.

A range of topics will be covered including sales and marketing, skills, workplace development, international trade, IT, quality improvement and legal and financial matters.

Seminars will be available on ways to increase sales and profits.

Major regional purchasers will be present, together with a large audience of regional businesses to allow attendees the chance to make introductions with potential customers and suppliers.

The events are being backed by North East Access to Finance (NEA2F), a regional resource that was set up to help SMEs navigate the complexities of finding finance.

NEA2F will be on hand to help businesses identify the potential sources of funding that are right for them and give guidance on how best they might prepare in order to maximise their chances of successful application.

Chief operating officer Stephen Lightley said: “Finance is at the heart of any business decision and NEA2F will be attending the two business plus events to help signpost businesses towards sources of finance that are relevant to their development plans.

“We shall be distributing copies of our access to finance guide and will be available to talk with individual businesses about their specific needs.
