ONE of the senior directors of UBS Wealth Management in Newcastle has resigned and is joining the Brewin Dolphin team in the city.

Barney Hawkins, who will be joining Brewin later this year, has more than 20 years’ experience in managing people’s money and dealing with private client investments for investors in the North East.

Charles May, Brewin’s head of office in Newcastle, said: “We are absolutely delighted that someone of the experience of Barney is joining Brewin Dolphin.

“We believe this is testimony to the way our business is developing and testimony to the commitment we have to the North East region, as we employ 350 people here.”

Hawkins worked as an investment director at UBS.
