Free advice on business growth for North East firms

FIRMS from across the North East will be seeking advice on how to develop and drive business growth at two business support events to be held in Newcastle and Teesside.

The free events, organised by Business and Enterprise Group, will take place on September 25 at Gosforth Park Hotel, Newcastle, and Wynyard Rooms, Billingham, on October 16.

The North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) has joined Newcastle-based law firm Sintons to advise on legal matters at the forthcoming events.

The “Legal Zone” will host mini-workshops, seminars and demonstrations, as well as talking face to face with experts.

NECC will showcase one of its flagship membership benefits, Business Essentials Online, an HR helpline and online advice service developed for NECC by HR specialists Croner.

It is based on their Croner-I service, which would usually cost £750 per year – however NECC members can access the service free of charge.

Legal experts from Sintons will be available to discuss aspects of company formation, the different types of structure available, give advice on intellectual property protection, employment matters, commercial property and contracts.

Attendees will be able to pre-book 30-minute legal surgery sessions with solicitors from Sintons for free advice on any aspect of business law.

Head of marketing at NECC Charlie Nettle said: “NECC's primary aim is to make the North East a success.

“We hope that by supporting the Business Plus events we can demonstrate some of the sound legal services that are available to help businesses and drive development and growth across our whole business community.

“We are pleased to be working with member firm Sintons and for them providing their expertise and representing the strong legal presence that the wider NECC network enjoys.”

Charles Penn, head of marketing at Sintons, added: “In order to be successful, businesses need to receive sound advice on a number of different areas, and both ourselves and NECC feel it is vital that we can inform them as to what services are at their disposal.”
