Top awards for recovery team CF Motoring Services

A VEHICLE recovery firm that rescued more than 600 stranded cars within 48 hours during the summer flood disasters has scooped three national awards.

CF Motoring Services, which operates from three sites across the region employing over 100 staff, has been named as national contractor of the year in both the acclaimed RAC and AA annual recovery awards.

The company also came runner up for its body repair services in the WNS Assistance Bodyshop Oscars, which recognises the contribution of the Top 40 best performing bodyshops in its network.

CF Motoring is a 24-hour vehicle recovery and breakdown service that also specialises in car body repair.

It is contracted through national motoring organisations, insurance companies, fleet operators as well as a call out service for private motorists. The company has attributed its award wins to a recent investment in training, industry infrastructure and technologies.

It is the only firm in the UK to have a retriever motorcycle as part of its vehicle recovery fleet, which aims to cut road congestion and carbon footprint with an approximate time of just eight minutes to arrive at a breakdown scene and remove it from the roadside.

It has invested in a new head office and call centre at Team Valley in Gateshead which also includes a repair workshop.

A robotic paint drying service, which cuts down the length of time it takes a vehicle to get repaired and repainted from a week to only a couple of days, also forms part of the company’s recent spend in technology.

Managing director Bill Calvert said: “It’s fantastic news for our company that within only two months we have won three national awards, which is a testament to our dedicated team and service record.

“The company began almost 35 years ago, with just one car and a trailer so it is very rewarding to see where we are now with a 100-plus strong team, 38 roadside recovery vehicles and three offices across the region.

“A great example of our work can be seen during last month’s floods where we worked around the clock to rescue more than 600 vehicles from dangerous breakdown situations within only two days.

“Where possible we have been able to repair flood damaged vehicles and are currently working with insurance providers across the country to help get these vehicles back on the road.”

CF Motoring has growth plans in place to invest more in greener processes, reducing its carbon footprint and vehicle emissions.
