FIRMS can get expert advice on how to make their company stronger, bigger and smarter at two Business Plus events.
There are already more than 400 visitors booked to attend the first, next week in Newcastle, and more are coming in, attracted by the chance to visit the massive event which will have nearly 50 exhibition stands, 14 seminars, 20 buyers and hundreds of networking opportunities.
The first of the free events organised by Business & Enterprise Group will take place at Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel in Newcastle next Tuesday.
As well as a business service exhibition, a number of local speakers will be sharing their knowledge and expertise in a range of practical and interactive seminars throughout the day.
Sponsored by Newcastle University Business School, the event’s seminar programme will help firms get to grips with strategic planning, making your business more profitable, blending offline and digital marketing, leading in times of crisis and much more. Some sessions will also look more in depth at the key business issues arising every day, including managing social media use in the workplace, and visitors can attend a session hosted by Sintons and North East Chamber of Commerce and book up an appointment for free legal guidance.
Gateshead College hosts a session to show how apprenticeships work and advise employers – who may not have employed apprentices before – about the value they can bring.
Their session will be led by Mick Brophy, managing director of business, innovation and development, and his team.
Delegates will get a real insight into apprenticeships, hearing directly from employers about their own experiences and how apprenticeships have helped them to secure the future of their organisations.
Business & Enterprise Group regional manager Andrew Wilson said: “That’s the aim of the game with Business Plus, making sure that businesses get an accurate picture of how a range of experts and support programmes can add value to your business, hearing direct from those involved.”
Visitors can also book marketing support clinics, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and get free tendering and contracting advice with supply chain consultant Garry Stone.
There will also be the chance to book a Meet the Buyer session with procurement managers from major public and private sector organisations across the North East, including Esh Group, Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue, Marriott Hotels, Newcastle City Council, the Ministry of Defence and Northumbria Healthcare NHS.
