LAW firm BHP has stepped up its expansion into Yorkshire from the North East with the launch of an office in York.
The Newcastle firm, which has six branches in the region, is looking to bolster business in county after opening in Halifax.
Managing partner John Pratt said: “This is a tremendous development for BHP Law and fulfils a major part of our strategic plan to grow in Yorkshire with new partners who are highly respected and come with outstanding experience.”
He said the firm was attracted to York, and particularly the Science Park where it its new office is based, by the growing number of science and technology related businesses, and because the firm had many existing clients and professional contacts in the city. The expansion comes after BHP Law entered The Lawyer’s league table of the nation’s top 200 practices for the first time and was ranked highly in the new edition of The Legal 500.
