A WORKWEAR provider has formed a rather special bond with prestigious car manufacturer, Aston Martin.
Durham-based Workwear Express was approached by Aston Martin, a brand synonymous with suave British agent James Bond, to design and produce a uniform for its 800-strong staff in the UK.
Andrew Ward, managing director at Workwear Express, said: “We are excited to be working with such an iconic brand and proud to be associated with them at a time when there is a lot of focus on the Aston Martin due to the release of the new James Bond film.”
The brief was to design a collection of garments to complement the brand’s high quality, professional image. Founded in 1914, Aston Martin is acknowledged as an iconic global brand and one of the biggest names in the automotive industry.
Ward added: “From the initial brief we took part in project meetings and wearer trials to ensure the design of the uniforms would meet their needs. The solution was a uniform of trousers, polo shirts and jackets with the Aston Martin logo incorporated; stylish and smart but comfortable and practical to wear.”
Due to the large volume of staff, uniform ordering needed to be a simple and efficient process which could be controlled by central personnel but used by individual branches. Aston Martin staff can log in and order their uniforms or manage their account from anywhere in the world using a unique online ordering and account management system called My Workwear Express.
Workwear Express was set up over 20 years ago and currently employs 50 staff. The sales team has a customer base of over 13,000 clients across the UK and overseas and the website offers over 6,000 off-the-shelf products as well as a bespoke manufactured service.
