GREGGS has appointed a former Procter & Gamble financial specialist to its board.

The Newcastle-based business has appointed Allison Kirkby has non-executive director from the end of the month.

Ms Kirkby, currently chief financial officer with media production company Shine Group, will also chair the Greggs audit committee after Ian Durant becomes board chairman following the Annual General Meeting on May 15.

Accountant Ms Kirkby started her career with Procter & Gamble and also worked for Virgin Media.
