Lone parents set for £300 boost

CHRISTMAS could be early this year in the form of £300 worth of shopping vouchers for lone parents looking for work throughout Tees Valley.

Employment specialists Working Links, who recently celebrated getting 100,000 people into work, is offering the early Christmas present for any lone parent who attends the Fit 4 Work course and finds a job before the end of the year.

Being the leading provider for welfare to work in the country, Working Links have years of experience in offering the Fit 4 Work course which helps participants deal with their confidence and motivation issues and set realistic goals.

The course also covers CV development, support with application forms and covering letters and interview and telephone techniques. Job seekers can use the job search and get immediate access to current vacancies.

“People who have been out of work for a while have a number of barriers that prevent them getting back into the job market easily,” said Working Links’ Lone Parent Engagement Consultant, Emma Haley.

“The fit 4 Work course offers the first steps back into employment and helps build confidence whilst working practically with the clients to find them suitable work.

“Returning to work can be intimidating for many but we aim to make the process as relaxed and supportive as possible and now there is the extra bonus of an early Christmas present if they find a job over the next few weeks.”

Working Links has offered the Fit 4 Work programme across the Tees Valley since 2006 for people on the Government’s New Deal programme and has offices in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar, Darlington and Hartlepool.

Any lone parent interested in the course should call or text Emma Haley on 07984 651211.
