Count on success for Abu and James

TWO employees at a firm of chartered accountants and business advisers are celebrating passing their professional exams.

Abu Ali and James Cleave, of Clive Owen & Co, have both passed their finals with the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW).

The firm, which has offices in Darlington and Durham, is also celebrating James coming among the very top students sitting their final qualifying examinations to become ICAEW chartered accountants.

James achieved joint ninth place out of over 1,700 candidates internationally in the ICAEW’s Advanced Stage examinations last November.

James joined the firm in August 2009. He spent four years studying at the University of Durham achieving a mathematics degree (MMath). He is now continuing with his three-year training programme at the firm.

Abu joined the audit team in September 2008 having gained a BA Hons from Newcastle University in accounting and finance. He has worked at both Darlington and Durham on various owner managed businesses.
