Dalton Park bucks trend

Dalton Park

A COUNTY Durham retail park says it is beating the recession with the opening of three new stores this year.

Dalton Park, near Seaham, last year welcomed stores from brands including GAP Outlet, New Balance, Subway, Unique Interiors, Past Times, Sleepmasters, DSL and an extended Marks & Spencer outlet.

And this year so far, three major brands have opened in the site. Collectables has taken a 2,314 sq ft unit. Charisma menswear has taken a 1,142 sq ft unit and Broomhill and Co 1,530 sq ft.

Heather Scott, marketing director said: "This is a great start to 2009. Last year we bucked the retail trend with a strong sales performance and eight new openings.

"This year has got off to a very positive sales start and with three new top brands already opened we're looking to go from strength to strength."
